Use and preserve color inkjet printers

Color inkjet printers, if used and stored incorrectly, will be prone to malfunction such as poorly printed color, no paper rolls, paper jams, irregular ink or ink stains, etc. When using, consult the documentation supplied with the machine for information on how to use and maintain the printer.

Here are some basic things to keep in mind when using color inkjet printers:

Load paper in the paper tray

  • Before loading paper in the tray, it is necessary to flatten the edges of the paper to prevent it from sticking to the paper when printing.
  • Fold the paper all the way to the sides to help put paper in the tray neatly, avoiding jams.
  • When placing the paper in the tray, adjust the paper stopper against the edge of the paper, not too tight or too loose. If you clamp too tightly the paper will not roll, if too loose paper will be deflected when the printer rolls the paper.

Choose a reasonable print mode

Choose the correct print mode to both save ink and get the right print. Typically, when drafting, choose Draft mode; Select Text or Normal mode for normal text and Photo or Best for image printing.
Select the correct type of printing paper you are using to get the fine print, the type of paper indicated on the package. For plain paper (for copiers, laser printers and color printers), choose Plain paper, which should only be used for normal text and image quality.

Preserve colored inkjet printers

  • Use good-quality, tear-free paper, not much fiber. Paper can stick to ink nozzles or ink can clog ink.
  • Do not print on rough, wrinkled, or warped paper because of possible paper jams, damage the paper roll unit, and damage the ink nozzles.
  • Use the right type of paper for each printing mode to get good prints and no ink smudges.
  • Must use paper that is the right size for the print, if the paper is smaller then the ink will be sprayed out to make the machine dirty or can infiltrate the other parts cause damage.
  • Using the manufacturer’s own ink to produce beautiful prints, poor quality ink can harm the nozzle.
  • Because inkjet printers use liquid ink, after printing, do not touch the print surface to avoid squid ink, which will normally dry completely after 24 hours.
